REPORTS TO: Operations Manager

 

FRONT DESK/RECEPTIONIST PURPOSE:  Welcome guests, check guests in and out of the hotel, deal with guest queries, provide prompt and professional guest services to meet guest needs and ensure guest satisfaction.  This individual will support other departments including Sales, Security and Airport Shuttle/Driver, as needed.

 

MAIN JOB DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Welcome and greet walk-in guests and guests with reservations when they arrive at the front desk
  • Register and check in guest
  • Confirm relevant guest information
  • Verify guests’ payment method
  • Verify and imprint credit cards for authorization
  • Issue room keys and direct guests to their rooms
  • Maintain clear and accurate records of guest room bookings
  • Compute all guest billings, accurately post charges to guest rooms and house accounts
  • Receive and transmit messages for guests
  • Retrieve mail, packages and documents such as faxes for guests
  • Listen and respond to guest queries and requests both in-person and by phone
  • Respond to current and prospective guests’ needs
  • Book reservations for individuals, families and groups as required and provide hotel rates and services
  • Refer guests to local amenities, venues and services
  • Liaise with necessary staff including housekeeping, airport shuttle/drive and maintenance to address any problems or complaints made by guests
  • Manage conference room bookings and scheduling
  • Close guest accounts and check out guests
  • Review accounts and charges with guests during the check-out process
  • Process accurate credit or cash payment of guest accounts
  • Inform housekeeping when rooms have been vacated and are ready for cleaning
  • Monitor visitors to the hotel
  • Enforce rules and policies of the hotel
  • Maintain a neat and orderly front desk and reception area

  • Numeracy and administrative skills

  • Detailed-oriented and task-driven individual
  • Professional appearance and attitude
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle stress and stay calm under pressure
  • Conflict resolution, sound decision making and judgement skills
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant computer software including MS Office and booking and payment systems
  • Willingness to maintain confidentiality
  • Flexible regarding work schedules

 

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-time

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent, 4+ years’ customer service experience preferred

 

JOB LOCATION: Phnom Penh, Cambodia (close to Phnom Penh International Airport)

 

SALARY: Negotiable, from $200+/month depending on experience
